Introduction:
Rate of Perceived Exertion, commonly known as RPE, is a subjective measure used to gauge how strenuous you feel your exercise is during a workout. RPE is a simple but effective tool to assess exercise intensity, using a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 representing minimal effort and 10 indicating maximum effort.
How to Rate using the RPE scale:
To rate RPE, you assess how hard you perceive your workout to be and rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. For instance, if you're engaged in a light warm-up, you might rate it as a 2 or 3. In contrast, a high-intensity interval training session might warrant an RPE score of 8 or 9.
RPE in Android & iOS Application : ( Client Experience )
After a workout, clients will see the question "How was your session?" on the workout summary screen.
Adjacent to this question is an information icon, denoted as an 'i', which, when clicked, opens a bottom sheet that explains what RPE is and outlines the different RPE levels.
Clients can select a score from 1 to 10 on this screen to submit their feedback, with the default value being 6 (Medium).
Once feedback is submitted, the logged RPE level will be displayed on the completed workout's detail page for reference.
If a client marks a workout as complete by clicking the "Mark Complete" button located on the top right of the workout detail page, a scale with the question "How was your session?" will also be presented for RPE input.
RPE on Trainer's Dashboard : ( Trainer's Experience )
Trainers have visibility of the RPE scores logged by their clients on the FitBudd dashboard on the workouts tiles of your client on the schedule page of their profile.
Clicking on the RPE score will open a description popup, providing further context and insights.
Note: Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) is a valuable tool that helps both clients and trainers gauge the intensity of workouts and track progress effectively. Whether you're a client assessing your exercise effort or a trainer monitoring your clients' exertion levels, RPE enhances the training experience, making it more personalized and informed.
