How to Enroll in the Google Developer Program | FitBudd Guide

Step-by-step guide to enrolling in the Google Developer Program for launching your FitBudd branded fitness app on Android. Learn requirements, fees, and setup process.

Requirements

  • A business Gmail account

  • A D-U-N-S® Number (verifies your organization’s identity and legal entity status)

  • Legal Entity Status

    • Your organization must be a legal entity so that it can enter into contracts with Apple. We do not accept DBAs, fictitious businesses, trade names, or branches.

  • Legal Binding Authority

    • As the person enrolling your organization in the Google Developer Program, you must have the legal authority to bind your organization to legal agreements. You must be the organization’s owner/founder, executive team member, senior project lead, or an employee with legal authority granted to you by a senior employee.

  • A Website

Your organization’s website must be publicly available and the domain name must be associated with your organization.


Enrollment process

Step 1: Go to Google Play Console and sign in with your Google account. If you do not have a Google account, then click Create account.

Step 2: Choose to create a Google developer account as "An Organization" and select "A company or business" in the drop down menu.

Step 3: Go through the requirements and click Continue on the next screen.

Step 4: Enter a publicly visible Developer name. This can be any name you want. For example, “[My Business Name] Developer Account.”

Step 5: Next, click Create or select payments profile to link a Google payments profile to your account:

For creating a new payments profile, you will be asked to enter the D-U-N-S number for your organisation:

If you already have an existing payments profile, you’ll be asked to choose between using your existing profile or creating a new one.

  • Next, enter or confirm your name and address.

  • When you’re done setting up your payments profile, click Next.

Step 6: Share the following information about your organisation:

  • Organisation size

  • Organisation phone number (include + followed by country code and then the number. For Example: +13021234567)

  • organisation website (Please ensure that the ownership of the website domain is with the organisation. Enter a valid URL starting with http:// or https:// )

    Step 7: Public Developer Profile: Add your phone number and email address. Google will verify both before moving forward.

Step 8: Provide the relevant information about your apps, including:

  • Number of apps to be published

  • Earning money on Google Play

  • App categories.

Step 9: Share your contact information with Google

Step 10: Check the Developer Distribution agreement and Console Term of services checkboxes, then click Create account and pay.

Step 11: You'll need to pay a one-off $25 registration fee to create your developer account. Complete the payment by paying the registration fee for your account with your debit/credit card.

Verification

Step 1: Once you’ve completed the payment, click on Verify ID to complete your identity verification.

Step 2: Agree to the terms, then click the Begin verification button.

Step 3: Enter a legal name, then select the ID type.

Step 4: Once you’ve provided the required details, click Next.

Step 5: You will find that your ID is being verified and in progress.

Note:

Once the ID verification process is completed, which may take up to 2 business days, you will be able to publish apps.
